Job Title: Research Specialist
FTE: 1.0 Full-Time
Salary: $33,840 - $40,000 per year; DOE

Job Description and Duties: This position in experimental biophysics would assist scientists in collecting experimental data at the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) X-ray laser near Stanford University, as part of the BioXFEL project https://www.bioxfel.org/ . The job is based at ASU but there will be travel to the LCLS several times a year. This position would also assist in fabrication of sample delivery devices in the biophysics laboratories of the BioXFEL program.
Minimum Qualifications (per job description attached): Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND two years related research or archaeological experience; OR, Six years research or archaeological experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications: Master's degree in engineering or related field. Must be willing to travel to the LCLS to help with beam time experiments.
Work Environment: Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office or lab setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
